There was a Presidential News Conference this morning at 11 am Eastern that I missed, is there anywhere on the net I can watch the full video. All I can find on news sites (CNN, MSNBC, ABCNEWS, etc…) is just bits and pieces.

He has been suspicious about this seminar that I attend to, and he specifically asked me not to sign anything, none at all, in that seminar. But the thing is, I don’t see anything wrong with the seminar. My husband just don’t trust my judgments at all. He said he arrived to a conclusion that I’m gullible due to past experiences. Now I’m torn… I want to attend the seminar and I won’t be allowed to if I don’t sign that waiver. By the way, the seminar is about self-improvement. What would you do if you are in my situation?

I’m glad you clarified the seminar, because I was like whats the big deal with the seminar. But I don’t understand why hes so against it. If you believe it will better improve you and your going to learn positive information, I would go and do it, your not doing anything wrong or bad. Ask him to come and see its not what hes making it out to be. You gotta talk it out with him and everyone must keep an open mind; I realized in marriage you gotta make comprimises and he should realize you wouldn’t do something that would endanger you or your family.

I’ve never been on unemployment before and heard that you need to go to workshops to continue having your benefits. How often are these workshops? Are they an 8 hour day long workshop? If they find a job for you, does it mean you must automatically take it even if it’s a shift you can’t do or a job that you know you wouldn’t be good at? What do you do at these workshops? Thanks!

I have drawn unemployment one time in my life and no work shops were required. The only thing I had to do was list three places during that week that I had applied for jobs.

I have just ordered something from the games workshop website and I am wondering what company they use to ship products. If you know a link to where it says on the website, please give the link to me, or if you know from personal experience, could you also tell me how quickly it came?

They use one of three USPS, UPS and FEDEX You could receive it in a week but you can go back to the company and ask them for a tracking number, or sometimes this is sent to you via e-mail if you gave that to them.

I am a CPA and very proficient with office applications/other software. How can I get involved with giving seminars/training sessions to supplement my income.
Can anyone make suggestions of companies that hire such people?

I’ve been to a Fred Pryor seminar a few years back and it was very good. I talked with the speaker afterwards and found out they are an independent contractor type setup. Other than my one experience, I can’t tell you much more about them than that. I remember their name because i have a friend with the same name.

Meetings, "reviews", etc., could only assist if they were properly structured.

The thinking seems to be "previously, meetings and reviews were held and seemed to ensure success, therefore, if we hold meetings and reviews, we will be successful".

But the argument is false, if key ingredients are missing.
Essential key ingredients would include knowledgeable personnel.

Without the proper people and motivation, meetings and reviews would be much worse than simply a waste of time.

They might rubber-stamp poor decisions.

Why is the meeting being held, unless the intention is to bypass the correct procedures, and somehow rubber-stamp such bypassing ?

Won’t the meeting be effectively rubber-stamping the minutiae of what happened during the development. If good work was done, this will be rubber-stamped. If nonsense was done, this too will be rubber-stamped as good.

It’s not holding meetings that ensures quality, it’s whether the minutiae is done correctly, or …
..if it’s not done correctly, this fact is picked up, and the work is redone until it is correct. Rubber-stamping will never ensure this.

In theory, all specifications can be transmitted thru email. In practice, there are issues the participants may not have clearly in their minds, and for whatever reason they may not be willing to admit ignorance. They would evade those issues, which may not be a bad strategy (much depends on the situation). A meeting may be the best place to discuss those issues. It says in effect "We are aware there are issues we are not clear about, and we are willing to ’spend’ our valuable time in a reunion so as to clarify them."

What is the least positive integer meeting each of the following conditions:
A. Dividing by 7 gives a remainder of 4
B. Dividing by 8 gives a remainder of 5
